Thesis Statement

To craft your own expository paragraph, first, choose a broad subject that captures your interest. This could be anything within contemporary culture such as television, sports, music, food, or movies. Once you've picked a broad area, the next step involves honing in on this subject to find a more specific topic suitable for a paragraph. For instance, starting with the broad category of sports, you might narrow it down to professional football. Yet, this focus is still too broad for a single paragraph. You would then need to narrow it further, perhaps to the issue of the high incidence of head injuries in the NFL. This process of refining a broad subject into a focused topic is crucial for writing an effective paragraph.
