The Scary Horse

In a small village called Eldermoor, which was surrounded by huge trees and tall mountains, there was a story about a very special horse. This horse was known as the Scary Horse. It was not like any other horse; it was part of a really cool story that everyone in Eldermoor, from kids to grown-ups, liked to talk about.

The Scary Horse was famous because it had super shiny, black fur and bright red eyes that glowed. It was said to appear only on nights when the moon was really big and bright. The horse would run very fast near the forest. The people of Eldermoor believed that seeing the Scary Horse meant something exciting was about to happen. They remembered times when the horse appeared, and then surprising things happened, like an old house falling apart or a really big tree disappearing.

Elara, a brave and curious fourth-grader, always loved the story of the Scary Horse. She wished she could see it herself.

One cool autumn night, Elara’s wish came true. She saw the Scary Horse near the forest. It looked wonderful, but also a little scary. At first, Elara felt a bit scared, but she still wanted to get a closer look. As she got nearer, she saw that the horse’s eyes were not scary at all. They were actually pretty and kind. Elara then understood that the Scary Horse was not scary. It was just a sign that something fun and interesting was about to happen in her village.

Feeling happy and brave, Elara watched as the horse quietly went back into the forest. After that night, Elara started to see things in a new way. She learned that sometimes things that look scary can be nice, and that changes are part of life and can be fun.

Back in Eldermoor, all the people still loved the story of the Scary Horse. For Elara, though, it was more than just a story. It was about being brave, learning new things, and knowing that changes can be good and exciting.
